The Elias Diversified Discipline Portfolio builds off the proven track record of the Elias large-cap growth investment process. Our investment team forecasts economic growth and performs a detailed analysis of each stock considered for the active portfolio. In addition, Elias seeks an experienced, shareholder-friendly management team and companies with a distinct competitive advantage within their industry.

While the Elias portfolio forms the core of client portfolios, investments in additional disciplines can help to reduce portfolio risk and volatility over time, while still providing superior long-term portfolio performance.

By allocating across multiple market capitalizations as well as growth and value-based styles, we increase the probability that, if one asset class is decreasing in value, another may be rising in value. The investments outside of the active large-cap growth discipline will be made using Exchange Traded Funds (ETF). ETF investments trade the same way as individual stocks, but are not shares of a singular company. The ETFs are shares of a portfolio designed to closely track the performance of any one of an array of market indexes.

Depending on the Portfolio chosen, complementary asset classes will be added to the active portfolio in carefully constructed weightings. These weightings are designed for the long-term and can be customized based on the needs of each individual investor. One of the strengths of this discipline is the periodic re-balancing of the portfolio. This allows strong performance in one discipline to be realized and re-allocated to an area which had recently lagged. Over time, re-balancing will maintain the targeted allocation, which is designed to provide long-term returns with reduced risk and volatility.
